The new rate took effect on **2 May**, marking the **second increase in just over a year**, following a similar rise in January 2024. Drop-off charges were first introduced at Gatwick in **March 2021**, aligning with similar practices at other UK airports. The current fee structure includes a **£1 charge for each additional minute** between 10 and 20 minutes, with a **daily cap of £27** and a **maximum stay of 30 minutes**. Payment is required by **midnight the following day**, with **Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)** technology used to capture vehicle details.
