London Gatwick Increases Drop-Off Fee to £7

London Gatwick Airport has raised its terminal drop-off charge to £7 for up to 10 minutes, up from the previous £6. The new rate took effect on 2 May, marking the second increase in just over a year, following a similar rise in January 2024.
Drop-off charges were first introduced at Gatwick in March 2021, aligning with similar practices at other UK airports. The current fee structure includes a £1 charge for each additional minute between 10 and 20 minutes, with a daily cap of £27 and a maximum stay of 30 minutes.
Payment is required by midnight the following day, with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology used to capture vehicle details.
Gatwick’s latest increase mirrors changes at other major UK airports. Heathrow and Edinburgh both raised their drop-off fees to £6 earlier this year, while Stansted, Manchester, and Birmingham have moved to ANPR-based systems with no physical barriers at their drop-off points.
