Eurostar To Launch Direct Trains to Germany and Switzerland

The proposed routes include direct connections from London to Frankfurt and Geneva, as well as a new line linking Amsterdam and Brussels to Geneva. This marks a significant milestone in European rail travel, offering faster, more sustainable alternatives to short-haul flights.
These new services are set to roll out in the early 2030s, pending the arrival of Eurostar’s next-generation fleet—up to 50 new high-speed trains. Estimated travel times are promising: around 5 hours from London to Frankfurt, 5 hours 20 minutes to Geneva, 6 hours 20 minutes from Amsterdam to Geneva, and just 4 hours 20 minutes from Brussels to Geneva.
In the meantime, Eurostar continues to enhance its existing network. After successfully reintroducing direct trains from Amsterdam to London in February, a fourth daily service will be added on September 9th, with a fifth expected to launch by mid-December—making travel between the UK and the Netherlands more convenient than ever.
Stay tuned for more updates as Eurostar continues to expand its footprint across Europe, making cross-border train travel faster, easier, and greener.
